Mariana Fernandes is a first-year student of the Master’s in International and European Law. Although her background is on Languages and International Relations (FLUP), she has always been a firm believer in the power of Law to change the world for the better. She took an exchange semester at Heidelberg University, where she discovered the key role academic research will play in ensuring climate accountability and a successful energy transition. Her research interests include the status of climate refugees, environmental justice, and the critical deconstruction of what has been done in terms of international cooperation.
