On the 16th and 17th of March, the University of Greifswald & IKEM, Germany, holds the ¨International Academic Conference on the Law of Energy Transition¨ in Greifswald.
Prof. Lucila de Almeida, Abreu Chair in ESG Impact, will open the conference with Prof. Johannes Saurer, University of Tubingen, and Prof. Kim Talus, Tulane University.
About the conference: the transition of energy generation and supply from dependence on fossil fuels towards carbon neutrality is a common task of the international community, the European Union and nation states across Europe. The conference explores the framework of international and European climate and energy law, but also convergences and divergences in the law of energy transition at the national level. It aims to identify best practices in stabilizing and accelerating energy transition processes and to facilitate discourse and learning between legal orders. Focal points are the expansion of renewable energies, but also energy security and participation in transition processes. The conference covers Western and Central European countries and the Baltic region.
