The NOVA Green Lab team is glad to announce the appointment of Beatriz Gomes as our new research associate and project manager. Beatriz applied and won the competitive selection process for the CEDIS research scholarship 2013/13.
For our Director, Professora Lucila de Almeida, ¨Beatriz proved to be the candidate who demonstrated an optimal combination of research and management skills, the reason why the committee unanimously selected her first among a list of outstanding candidates¨.
The NOVA Green Lab team welcomes Beatriz Gomes and looks forward to kick-off the various projects already in the pipeline.
Beatriz Gomes
Beatriz is a Master’s Degree student, specializing in Public Law and Regulation at NOVA School of Law. Simultaneously, Beatriz is a Research Associate and Project Manager at NOVA Green Lab.
Prior, Beatriz obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Law at NOVA School of Law and has had an internship at Gama Glória, collaborating in the areas of Environmental and Regulatory Law, Public Procurement and Tax Law.
During her Bachelor’s, Beatriz was also a part-time legal assistant and the President of the Supervisory Board of the NOVA School of Law SU, the official elected body responsible for the overview of the SU’s activity.
Research scholarship
In accordance to art. 8 of the Research Grants Regulation of the Foundation for Science and Technology, with the financial support of the FCT/MCTES through national funds (PIDDAC), and within the scope of the Strategic Project of CEDIS 2020-2023 (Ref. UIDB/00714 /2020), a call for applications was launched for 1 (one) Research Scholarship (BI), for a student enrolled in a Masters Degree course, to collaborate in the knowledge center NOVA Green Lab, hosted by CEDIS, center of R&D on Law and Society (UI0714), at NOVA School of Law – Faculty of Law, Lisbon NOVA University, coordinated by Professor Lucila de Almeida.
Duration: The scholarship lasts for 6 months, with the possibility of renewal for an equal period up to a maximum of 24 months.
Object, Objective and Activities: provide support and assistance to the research carried out by NOVA GREEN LAB. The knowledge center responds to the need to find skills and knowledge in the area of the environment, climate and energy, topics that are directly or indirectly linked to all the goals of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. NOVA GREEN LAB’s research focuses especially on the legal architecture and legislative reforms at European Union level and subsequent transposition in the Member States. In this regard, the fellow will assist the NOVA GREEN LAB coordination team in achieving these objectives by providing research assistance, helping in particular in activities related to assisting in the dissemination of scientific research, organizing conferences and workshops, updating social networks and website, in particular together with NOVA GREEN LAB’s privileged partners, public or private. In particular, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out part of his/her research on European law in the NOVA Green Lab’s area of expertise, also including issues related to ESG impact.
