WhatNext.Law and NOVA Green Lab are pleased to invite you to the webinar “EU Contract Case Law of the CJEU (July 2023-March 2024): What is New?” on 7 June from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. The webinar will highlight the most significant judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Union on contracts during this period.

The event is based on two articles from the European Review of Contract Law, Issues 20(1) and 20(2), presented by their authors: Fabrizio Esposito, Lucila de Almeida, and Elisa Valletta. Out of 343 judgments delivered by the CJEU between July 2023 and March 2024, 94 involved contract law. The session will begin with an overview of these cases, detailing the monitoring and selection criteria. It will then focus on the cases with the most substantial impact on contracting practices in the EU.

Questions can be submitted via chat during the event, and a Q&A session will follow the presentations.

Background

Since 2020, the European Review of Contract Law has periodically published articles titled “EU Contract Case Law,” featuring op-eds on key CJEU judgments related to contract law. These articles are the result of ongoing research by Professors Fabrizio Esposito and Lucila de Almeida from NOVA School of Law. Recently, they have been joined by PhD researchers to help describe these cases.

The webinar will be conducted in English, and prior registration is required by 6 June. We look forward to your participation and are available for any questions via email at info@whatnext.law.
