On 30 November 2023, the NOVA Green Lab welcomes Dr. João Lupi as a guest lecturer for our Energy Law course for our master students. He will give a lecture about Energy Law and the Ocean, which is part of a series of two lectures dedicated to strengthening the knowledge of Energy Law especially for students in the Master of Law & Economics of the Ocean.

The lecture is mandatory for students registered in the Energy law course and open for the NOVA School of Law´s community. No previous registration is needed.


João Lupi is a senior associate at Abreu Advogados since 2022, working mainly in the areas of Finance and Projects, with intervention in investment and financing transactions.

His career has been notable for the work carried out in providing strategic legal advice and support in the areas of Finance and Projects, M&A and Capital Markets.

He has intervention in projects, transactions and national and cross-border financing, with special emphasis in Europe, West Africa and Brazil and in the banking, energy and natural resources sectors, regularly assisting Investment Companies, Collective Investment Schemes and Management Entities, in particular venture capital.

He advises leading companies in their sectors of activity, financial entities and public authorities, in various types of transactions, markets and products, interacting with the respective regulatory authorities.

He is registered with the Portuguese and Brazilian Bar Associations.

Between 2017 and 2019, he performed functions as Deputy Director and Head of Legal Affairs of the Holding Company of a financial group, based in Luxembourg.
